Slack Installation Redesign

With the introduction of multi-agent support, our original Slack installation flow needed a rework. The new flow is cleaner, handles edge cases better, and sets up the correct agent bindings from the start.

Simplified OAuth

The Slack OAuth flow now completes in fewer steps. We request only the permissions we need, and the post-install setup automatically detects your workspace configuration. No more manual channel selection during onboarding — that’s handled in the agent settings afterward.

Better error handling

If something goes wrong during installation — network timeout, insufficient Slack permissions, workspace restrictions — you now get a clear error message with specific steps to resolve it, instead of a generic failure page.

Multi-agent aware

When you install the Slack app, it’s now aware of your agent configuration. Each agent can be bound to specific Slack channels, and the installation flow respects these bindings. Reinstalling or reconnecting doesn’t reset your agent-channel mappings.
