File & Text Data Sources

Upload files or paste text directly to build your AI knowledge base. Supports PDFs, documents, and plain text — stored securely in S3.

Not all knowledge lives on a website. Product manuals, internal docs, policy documents — now you can upload them directly to SupportUnicorn.

File uploads

Upload PDFs, Word documents, and other files through Settings > Data Sources > Files. Files are stored securely in S3, chunked, and indexed into your knowledge base. The AI references this content when answering customer questions.

Text data source

For quick additions — a pricing clarification, a temporary policy change, a new FAQ answer — paste text directly into the text data source. No file needed. This is the fastest way to get new information into your AI’s knowledge base.

Preview and manage

Preview uploaded files before they go live. Delete individual files or text entries when they become outdated. Each data source shows its indexing status so you know when content is ready for the AI to use.
